Tracking cooler-than-normal temperatures to wrap up June and to kick off July

Ending the month of June with cooler-than-normal temperatures. And I am tracking a below-average start to July before a warm-up arrives for the holiday weekend.

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - Happy final day of June and we are ending the month with cooler than normal temperatures. You know you live in the desert when you get excited about double-digit temperatures. Enjoy it!

Tracking a cool and comfortable evening ahead. Check out the next 12-hours, we are cooling down nicely. Great to dine out on the patio to eat some tacos for Tacos Tuesday.

I am still tracking some strong winds through tonight and even for tomorrow evening. Mainly, those winds will be in Imperial County with winds coming from the west/southwest and gusts reaching between 25-30 MPH.

A lower pressure system is staying in place keeping the Desert Southwest cooler than normal with breezy evening for the first half of the week.

Tracking lots of sunshine and below-average temperatures as we say hello to July! Temperatures will be warming up to seasonal levels by the 4th of July.

Hotter temperatures will return early next week.

TRACKING THE TROPICS: I am tracking and watching for a tropical disturbance in the eastern pacific. There is a 70% for a tropical storm to develop in the next 7 days. I will continue to track and bring more details.
