Top cities people are leaving are in California, many moving to Nevada and Arizona
According to a new report, two of the top three cities in the entire country that people are moving out of happen to be in California.
The report comes from Redfin and shows San Francisco at the top spot for cities people are leaving, followed by New York then Los Angeles. As for the cities with the most people moving to, that includes Las Vegas and Phoenix.
Redfin based the analysis on more than one million people searching for a home across 75 metro areas from October through December.
Chief economist for Redfin, Nela Richardson, said in a statement, “People leaving coastal hubs in search of affordability has been a consistent trend for the last five years.” Aside from cost of living, politics of the state and local government play a part.
