The Yuma Union High School District board has approved the salary for the new superintendent, Gina Thompson.

Thompson will be receiving a salary of $146,000 dollars and will have an $800 car allowance per month. According to the School Superintendents Association, the average salary is usually six figures. Thompson was the interim superintendent following former Superintendent Toni Badone’s retirement and acted as associate administrator for years.
