The madness of Valentines Day

The madness of the Valentine Day season is in full swing, local businesses and stands have been preparing for this day since Monday.

Love is in the air and there’s no better day to show your love to one than on this day, right? Locals are definitely in the spirit, but no need to worry if today does not go as planned there’s always tomorrow.

“There is just a lot of game planning going on like I said we spent 2-3 weeks gearing up just for this one day” shared Kathy Colvin, Store manager at Fry’s.

It is the holiday of love,teddy bears, chocolates, Kylie lip kits and the most popular red roses.

“On Monday she sold about seventy roses and as of right now she has sold about 119” shares Colvin about Floral Manager, Murline Ford.

The stands have also seen success this holiday season, but not as much as in the previous years

“Its a bit slower than in previous years but people are still coming,” shares Esther Solario, Owner of a Valentine’s Day stand for several years.

Whereas local grocery stores are sky rocketing in sales, Fry’s in Yuma happens to be number ten out of one hundred and twenty-three stores in the state and they are feeling the heat.

“We did around 1500 in sales on Monday and we will do about thirty thousand today”

But just in case you miss today…No worries there’s always tomorrow.

“I already had two people return….Its a very serious holiday” shares Colvin.

And there is even regret day just in case the gift you gave them on valentine’s day was not enough

So this valentine’s day rest assure there will still be items on deck for Regret Day, February 15th.
