YPD awarded grants by Arizona Governor’s Office

The Governors’ Office of Highway Safety awarded the Yuma Police Department a total of $47,000 in grant funding for equipment.

The department will use the money to purchase a new patrol vehicle that will be dedicated to DUI/ Impaired Driving Enforcement.

The department was also awarded $35,000 in grant funding to cover the cost of officers’ overtime expenses for Selective Traffic Enforcement Programs and for DUI / Impaired Driving Enforcement details.

With the assistance of the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, these grants will allow authorities to make the community a safer place.
