Coast Guard Seizes Cocaine Worth $220m
SAN DIEGO (KYMA/KECY) - More than $220-million worth of cocaine won't make it to U.S. streets, all thanks to the U.S. Coast Guard.
The cocaine was offloaded in San Diego Wednesday after being seized by the Coast Guard in the Eastern Pacific Ocean.
The Coast Guard intercepted four different vessels smuggling the drugs at different times off the coasts of Mexico, Central America, and South America.
The drugs-- which weigh more than 11-thousand pounds-- were confiscated during operations that took place in April and May.
