Utah man wanted for attempted homicide apprehended at San Diego Port of Entry
An 18-year-old Utah man who was wanted for attempted homicide was arrested at the Otay Port of Entry in San Diego on Christmas Day.
At about 11 a.m. Monday, the man, a U.S. citizen, attempted to enter the county on foot with a Social Security card and a student ID. An officer referred the man to secondary processing where a query of the man’s fingerprints confirmed his identity as Ulisses Rodriguez.
Rodriguez was subject to an outstanding felony warrant for attempted homicide issued by the Provo Department in Utah with bail set at $25,000.
“CBP officers are dedicated to securing our nation’s borders and there’s no exception during the holiday season,” said Pete Flores, Director of Field Operations for CBP in San Diego. “CBP officers remain vigilant and focused on inspecting all persons entering the ports of entry.”
Following the warrant’s confirmation, Rodriguez was booked into San Diego County Jail for further processing.
