Arizona nutritional assistance program is streamlined

Up until now, women receiving the WIC program would have to go to a check out line with WIC Checks and the cashier would have to compare the list and the items purchased. The experience is usually time consuming and many times can make the woman a victim to unneeded harassment from other shoppers. The Department of Heath Services has changed that, they’re now offering an app called “EzWIC” which is available online.

The app can be placed on the recipient’s smart phone and upon check out everything is automated, making the experience a smoother one for both those using WIC and cashiers processing the purchase. Last year, Arizona spend over a $117 million on WIC benefits.
