Military Matters: F-35B about to engage in a “Baptism by Fire”

The Marine Corps. Times is reporting that two Marine Expeditionary Units may soon be deployed to the Pacific and to the Central Command Theater which covers Iraq, Iran, Yemen, Afghanistan and Syria. The 31st MEU out of Okinawa will be assigned to the Amphibious USS Wasp and the 13th MEU out of Camp Pendleton will be assigned to the Amphibious USS ESSEX.

The F-35B is the ideal weapon to replace the corps. existing aging fleet which includes the prowler, harrier and the hornet. The F-35B, short take off capabilities and its ability to be flexible with its payload make it a clear victor in both air and ground combat. Information from the F-35B’s cockpit can be received by ground forces in real time, changing the future of combat.
