If you browse the Facebook page of John’s Family Restaurant in Yuma, you’ll see pictures of customers dining and comments praising the food and service. That was the norm up until recently when the message on the page read “closed” and soon after “permanently closed”. The news was a surprise to many because not long ago the restaurant opened bearing the name, “Omega Restaurant and Bar” and became a favorite location for locals and travelers alike.
Now, instead of praise the business is seeing backlash after rumors surfaced that the eatery may have closed down under questionable circumstances among them unpaid employees who have taken to social media to voice their dismay. In an attempt to clear the air, we reached out to the owner who agreed to meet with us to discuss the matter; the owner failed to show up at the designated meeting area and has since refused to take our calls.
