Vehicle versus motorcycle collision reported on South FrontageRoad and Avenue 9E

The Yuma Police Department responded to a vehicle versus motorcycle collision in the area of South Frontage Road and Avenue 9E at around 11:41 a.m. Thursday.

The initial investigation revealed a Hyundai Santa Fe was stopped on Avenue 9E at the intersection of South Frontage Road. The Hyundai failed to stop while attempting to make a left-hand turn from Avenue 9E onto South Frontage Road and collided with a Harley Davidson motorcycle that was traveling eastbound on South Frontage Road.

The motorcycle rider, a 51-year-old male, was taken to Yuma Regional Medical Center and later flown to a Phoenix hospital with serious injuries. There were no reported injuries from the driver of the Hyundai.
