Arts center remains open another year
The El Centro arts center will keep its doors open another year.
The Mexican Consulate in Calexico and the City of El Centro signed a Memorandum Of Understanding on Friday that keeps the Casa de la Cultura arts center open for another year.
Officials said the center promotes different artistic activities, art expositions, conferences, and gatherings related to music, theater and film. It opened its doors last year.
City officials said they want a closer relationship with the government of Mexico and the arts center is part of that.
The Casa de la Cultura arts center is located at El Centro’s Old Post Office Pavilion near downtown.
