Yuma firefighters extinguish cooking fire

Firefighters responded to a cooking fire in the 1200 block of 9th Avenue at 6:41 p.m. Friday.

Embers flew in the neighbor’s palm tree which caught on fire. The Yuma Fire Department controlled the fire, reported that no residences caught fire and no one was hurt.
