Topic of the Day: Shamed soldier’s life in the balance

Three years ago it became a media frenzy as the Army rescued a prisoner of war who spent five years in captivity after leaving his post. The story of U.S. Army Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl made headlines and since then many have given their opinion as to what should happen to him.

Last week, Sgt. Bergdahl pled guilty of desertion and misbehavior in front of the enemy and now it’s up to a judge to decide just what happens. During his sentencing, soldiers injured in the process of rescuing Bergdahl will speak; already Former Army Corporal Jonathan Morita has voiced his recommendation, he told reporters that Bergdahl should be dishonorably discharged and given life in prison.
