Yuma Firefighters put out apartment fire

Yuma Firefighters put out an apartment fire on Monday a little before 10:00 P.M. According to firefighters an apartment caught fire and the residents were able to evacuate the apartment safely while the fire was burning. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire and contain it to the apartment. Officials say the damage was in the laundry room wall, ceiling, attic and roof above.

The apartment will not be re-occupied until the damages have been repaired. No injuries have been reported.

Yuma Fire officials warn residents that fires can quickly double in size and want to ensure everyone has a safe evacuation route in the event of a fire.
