Vigil to honor domestic violence victims

The Yuma County Victim’s Rights Committee will be celebrating Domestic Violence Awareness Month by holding a vigil to honor those who have died as a result of domestic violence.

The vigil will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 24th from 5:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at the Centennial Heritage Area of the Yuma County Main Library located at 2951 South 21st Drive.

The event will mourn victims, celebrate survivors, and ultimately work to end violence once and for all. The event will also recognize the need for the community to support not only victims of domestic violence but also those who support and advocate for victims as well.

There will be speakers, music, refreshments, informational booths and a balloon launch.
