(KYMA, KECY/NBC News) - A driver on a Texas highway caught video of a car fire just as the flames engulfed the vehicle.

Stephen Patino was traveling on highway 114 in Southlake, Texas on Sunday when he saw the vehicle across the interstate on fire and began filming it.

Little did he know he was about to witness a scene as intense as the flames that erupted from vehicles as they drove by.

The explosion sent flames shooting in the sky and caused a grass fire.

Southlake fire responded to the scene and was able to get the scene under control quickly.
