U.S. Sen. Flake in Yuma Thursday

U.S. Senator Jeff Flake (R-AZ) will be in Yuma Thursday ahead of his run for re-election in 2018.

Flake’s office confirms the senator will be joining the Greater Yuma Economic Development Corporation for a breakfast. According to John Courtis with the Yuma County Chamber of Commerce, the big topic there will be adding trade skill jobs to the community.

Flake will also be meeting with local agriculture leaders, local law enforcement, and military officials.

All of Flake’s meetings will be closed to the media, but Flake will be joining us for an interview on KYMA and KSWT Thursday afternoon.

Flake has been very vocal against some of the actions of President Donald Trump, including last week’s pardon of Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio. In a message posted on his Twitter account Flake said, “Regarding the Arpaio pardon, I would have preferred that the President honor the judicial process and let it take its course.”

We will have the latest on Sen. Flake’s visit to Yuma in all of our newscasts on Thursday.
