Man attacked with machete

According to La Tribuna de San Luis police were called out to Jalapa Avenue and 37th Street in San Luis Rio Colorado for a report of a stabbing victim on Monday .

Once on scene officers found 37-year-old Sergio Mejia Leon bleeding from his head.

Witnesses told police that Leon intervened as his wife was being assaulted by her father. After stopping the abuse, Ernesto Guadalupe then attacked Leon with a machete striking him in the head.

Guadalupe had fled the scene before police arrived and is being considered armed and dangerous.
