Rural Metro responds to residential fire on County 14th

The Rural Metro Fire Department responded to a residential fire in the area of County 14th Street Sunday morning.

After receiving multiple emergency 911 calls Rural Metro arrived on scene in the area of County 14th Street west of Avenue C.

Officials were advised that all occupants were out of the home; however, the family dog was still inside.

Firefighters noticed the back patio was on fire and began to put the fire out from the side of the house. A following fire truck arrived to assist through the front part of the home.

The fire crews determined the source of the fire was in the attic.

A fire crew was assigned to find the dog inside the house and was successful. The dog was carried to safety and treated for smoke inhalation with oxygen. He recovered and was returned back to the family.

The fire was extinguished shortly after with no injuries reported.
