Flash Flood warning issued for Imperial County

The National Weather Service in Phoenix has issued a flash flood warning for northeastern Imperial County in California Wednesday afternoon and it will remain in effect until 7:15 p.m. PDT.

Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms at 4 p.m. and will be producing heavy rain across the warned area. Additional storm activity is moving into the area as well. Flash flooding is expecting to begin shortly.

California Highway Patrol reports several road closures due to flooding around the area. More rainfall will prolong flooding.

Flash flooding will remain over mainly rural areas of northeastern Imperial County.
