Special Delivery: Newest Yumans get “Bundles of Joy”

The New Life Pregnancy Center of Yuma is a quaint and soothing place where mothers can come in and ask for help. Director Adriana Mrofka encourages anyone with children to contact them if they need assistance and if they’re able to help they will and if they can’t they’ll direct you to the right program. The center offers a variety of services for expecting mothers, new mothers, families and foster children and more.

Director Mrofka points out that the center can’t survive without the support of the community. So, when they received a call from a member of the Christ Lutheran Church telling the center that they planned on delivering some care packages the ladies at the center were excited. Apryl Brand with the church delivered what they call “Bundles of Joy” some basic necessities wrapped in a handmade quilt.

Even under triple digit temps the workers at the center helped carry in the bundles into the center where Brand showed our cameras just what was inside. Resting on top was a bible, under that a stuffed animal, clothes, diapers and of course a quilt made by church parishioners. Brand says that this is the second time that the church has donated to the center.

When asked, why the church felt the need to help Brand gently pointed out that she was Pro-Life and that her church was Pro-Life and that the bundles were a way to say thank you to the new moms for keeping their children.
