Build a Kit

Being prepared for an emergency isn’t just about staying safe during a disaster. It’s about how to stay comfortable, clean, fed, and healthy. On Wednesday, July 12 th , families are invited to the Somerton Library at 1:00 p.m. for the Build a Kit game! Work together to decide what supplies your family would need during an emergency. There is no charge to attend.

The Somerton Library is located at 240 Canal Street in Somerton, AZ. For more information, call (928) 627-2149.

Balloon Cowboy

Visit Yuma County Libraries July 11th-14th for interactive story times with the Balloon Making Cowboy and his amazing balloon creations! There is no charge to attend this family-friendly program.

Food for Fines/Summer Reading Grand Finale

On Saturday, July 15 th , celebrate the end of the Summer Reading Program and your success as a reader! Enjoy activities, refreshments, and find out if you’re a grand prize winner! For more information, visit your local library or check out ‘Library Events’ at yumalibrary.org

July 15 th is also the last day for Food for Fines: Summer Edition. For every 10 oz. (or larger) can of food that is donated, one dollar in overdue fines will be cleared from your account. Only labeled cans will be accepted. No glass jars, or dented or expired cans please. All cans of food will be donated to a local food pantry or assistance agency.
