Stuff the Bus campaign in full swing

It’s a problem that plagues families all across the globe; children falling short when it comes to the tools they need to do their school work. That very reality is what drove members of the Yuma Regional Foundation to begin their Stuff the Bus campaign. A community wide effort to collect the supplies children need to start the school year off on a positive note.

Almost two decades have passed since the inception of their event and along with the years, the demand has also grown. To date the foundation collects enough supplies for 6,000 backpacks that will in turn be delivered to area schools and local non-profits. Over the course of a few weeks, volunteers and foundation members will come together and hold school supply drives in hopes of meeting their goal. On June 22nd, the foundation launched their official kick off for the campaign and according to volunteers the overall feedback appears to be promising.

Now, if you’re interested in helping out with either a monetary donation or if you’re looking to donate some supplies you can log onto the foundations website at http://www.yumaregional.org.
