2017 Mariachi Festival to end celebrations with a bang

The 26th Annual Mariachi Festival will be coming to a close this weekend.

The Calexico City Chamber of Commerce is ending this year’s celebration with a big concert in town including tequila tasting Friday night. The end of the festival celebrations will take place on Saturday.

The “Mariachi Festival Sin Fronteras Gala Concert” will be held at the San Juan Diego Parish Hall in Calexico featuring ballet folklorico, music performances and of course great food with returning well known faces from previous years.

“We have headlining the concert, Mariachi Garibaldi de Jaime Cuellar, they have never been here, they are out of Los Angeles. And then you have all the Mexican arts and crafts people here. We have people here from Jalisco and from Oaxaca and from Baja California. And they have been selling all or their goods since Monday. We want to make sure you have a good time and if you’re not having a good time well we’re going to give you some more tequila,” said Hildy Carrillo, Executive Director of the City of Calexico Chamber of Commerce.
