Aggravated assault at Motel 6 leads police on pursuit, suspect arrested
A man is in police custody after officers say an aggravated assault at a local Motel 6 led to a traffic stop, then his arrest.
News 11 was on-scene around 9:00 p.m. Saturday night when multiple police units sped southbound on Fourth Avenue turning left on 26th Street. The suspect was wearing what appeared to be a red shirt and jumped over a residential fence and ran from authorities. One officer took notice and immediately chased after the male suspect. The rest of the units on scene assisted that officer.
The pursuit ended on Fourth Avenue across the street from a McDonalds. The man was cornered and arrested. Police immediately cleared the scene following the arrest.
