“Rise Above” Exhibit inspires students to chase after their dream

The “Rise Above” exhibit has made it’s way to Yuma, with a message to inspire students.

The exhibit tells the story of the Tuskegee airmen who battled the skies in World War II and also all the obstacles they faced to achieve their dream of flying. Terry Hollis travels with the exhibit and shares the stories to schools across the nation.

“A lot of people never heard of the Tuskegee Airmen, and who they were or what they did. They’ve come along at a time when black people wasn’t “smart” enough to fly airplanes. They themselves had to overcome all the adversities to prove that they can not only fly the airplanes…but they were excellent at what they did.”

The semi truck is actually a movie theater that gives you the experience of flying like Tuskegee pilots did. The truck fits thirty to forty people at one time. The film has touched communities across the nation giving the message to chase after your dream.

“My favorite part in the movie is that they believed in themselves and they can do anything as long as they put their mind to it.”

” My favorite part in the movie is when he gave something to the little boy and said he could achieve anything that he could do and that showed me that I can do whatever they want. I want to achieve in my life and be successful and be by my father at his side.”
