Tracking incoming heat later this week

Tracking slightly warmer than normal temperatures for now, but our temperatures are going to quickly heat up, bringing in the hottest temperatures of the year so far in the days ahead.

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA-TV)- Temperatures begin to trend slightly above-average starting today. Enjoy this because we have even hotter temperatures still on the way.

Our evenings are still going to be nice and mild. We are in for an enjoyable night to go out for Taco Tuesday tonight.

Tracking a warm and sunny few days ahead. We are in for a few clouds and slightly breezier conditions by Thursday, with temperatures still staying above-average.

Temperatures will quickly heat up for the weekend, bringing the hottest temperatures of the year so far. Daytime highs will climb to 110+ by the weekend, with overnight lows in the 80s. We are in for a hot weekend to come.

It's Day 3 for Monsoon Awareness Week, and today's topic is Flash Flooding. Turn Around, Don't Drown! 6 inches of water can knock you down.

12 inches can sweep away a small car. Flash floods strike fast, especially near burn scars. Never drive through flooded roads!

It's also important to know the difference between a Flash Flood WATCH and A Flash Flood WARNING.

A Watch is a sign to be PREPARED when flooding can occur. And a Warning is to TAKE ACTION because flooding is occurring.
