Phil D. Swing students Jump Rope for Heart

Phil Swing Elementary School in Brawley held their Jump Rope for Heart event this morning.

The event is a part of the American Heart Association. Students raised money and learned about their hearts and how to keep them healthy.

This year the students had a more interactive setup that included four different rotation stations.

“This year we kind of went big with it, in the past we’ve just had the jump a thon, but this year we did four stations. So we have an unhealthy heart station, we have an exercise station, we have a healthy heart station and we have of course the jump a thon where the kids get to do the jump roping,” said Ms. Zeigler, 4th Grade Teacher.

Local firefighters, the Imperial County Sheriff’s Office and retired teachers also volunteered to take part in the event, all for a good cause, to help and inspire students to take better care of their health.
