A 16-year-old mother left her foster home with her 4-day-old newborn baby.

Yuma Police Department (YPD) officials say, Alondra Quintero is believed to have left her foster home in the 1400 block W. Las Lomas Street between 6:15 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. Tuesday.

YPD officials suspect Quintero is heading to Mexico where her parents live.

The baby is a ward of the state of Arizona, according to officials.

Quintero is described as a Hispanic female, 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighing about 150 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. The baby is 18 inches long, 6 pounds with brown hair.

Police officers say anyone with information on this case is encouraged to call them at (928) 373-4700 or 78-Crime to remain anonymous.
