Local actor gets big break in major Spanish telenovela
Mexicali native and soap opera television actor Axel Vizantino recalls when after 13 years of acting he finally got the call from a major telenovela studio.
“I got the call from the production, and then I said, who’s there? ‘oh, we’re calling from Señora Acero 3, and we got you from an actor, and we want you if you can to act with us.’ And I said ok. That’s good,” Vizantino said.
The Mexican TV soap operas are popular throughout Latin America and growing in popularity in the U.S. Working in one was a dream come true for Vizantino.
“It was a magical moment for me,” Vizantino said.
Recently he completed work in the telenovela Señora Acero 3. He could hardly believe he was working alongside major Mexican TV stars like Sergio Goyri .
“I saw him on TV. And I said, ‘Wow! I’m acting right now with him!’ so, it was exciting,” Vizantino said.
He’s also acted in the Comedy Central special “Drunk History” hosted by Mexican star Eugenio Derbez .
“This opportunity – you can’t reject anything,” Vizantino said.
And there’s more acting work coming his way.
“I was making a casting about three weeks ago. I will be with Karla Estrada in a telenovela ,” Vizantino explained.
Vizantino said his career is just taking off but in this business everything depends on getting the right call.
“So, I need to wait for the call,” Vizantino concluded.
