Eastbound Interstate 10 has reopened in southern Arizona after being closed because of a chase of a naked woman who stole a sheriff’s vehicle.
Eastbound lanes of the freeway were closed for about an hour Thursday morning near the location where the pursuit ended in the Eloy area.
Authorities say the chase began when the woman overpowered a Maricopa County sheriff’s deputy at a gas station in Gila Bend and stole his truck.
State troopers reportedly laid down spike strips try to stop the truck during the pursuit, and video showed one of the truck’s tires shredded.
Sheriff’s spokesman Mark Casey said he didn’t immediately know how the pursuit ended.
