Topic of the Day: Law Enforcement Speaking Out

During President-elect Donald Trump’s campaign one of his largest supporters was the country’s law enforcement unions.
And although they still support him many departments are shying away from his call to use local law enforcement to do immigration sweeps. Trump’s campaign website states that on day one, he will “move criminal aliens out in joint operations with local, state and federal law enforcement.”
Los Angeles, San Diego and Denver law enforcement have already declared that they will not take part in enforcing federal law and will leave that to their U.S. Customs and Border Protection counterparts.
