Coldest night of the season approaches

Overnight temps could fall from the high to low 30's.

The last disturbance to pass through our area has left it's mark when it comes to the cold pocket of air that continues to lower our region temperatures; especially overnight.

Even though the National Weather Service has not enacted any cold weather related advisories in either Yuma or Imperial Counties; the overnight mercury is expected to drop to it's lowest levels of the season yet.

Even though the city of Yuma will likely not receive any temperatures below 40 degrees, many other areas of the Desert Southwest will have overnight lows range from the high to low 30's.

Blythe and El Centro could experience near freezing conditions going into Wednesday morning.

Beyond this, expect gradual milder feelings to take root for the rest of the week and into the weekend before the Christmas holiday.

A weak ridge of high pressure will be the main weather player in that span of time, before an upper level low moves in early next week.
