San Luis residents question police investigation

A San Luis couple is asking for more transparency from the San Luis Police Department following a robbery in their home.

Artemio Servin, 64, and Martha Servin, 59, say the police department hasn’t taken their concerns seriously in the week’s following the August 19th incident.

The couple question the amount of time the department took in releasing the police report, which the couple says they’ve needed for insurance purposes.

Moreover, the Servins say officers have at times been indifferent and haven’t included their complaints in the police report.

“The day we went to speak with [officer] Alvarez,” Martha Servin said, “he didn’t even greet us. At no point did he put his guard down and there was no humility on his part.”

For their part the San Luis police department says there was a misunderstanding in the initial police report which they say was completed the same week the incident occurred.

” In this particular case, we usually tend not to rush things,” said Sgt. Marco Santana, of the San Luis Police department, “we’re trying to do the best we can to basically dissect all the leads.”

SLPD says though the case has been a priority, no arrests have been made. The case, they say, is now pending.

Martha Servin was assaulted during a morning robbery at her home on August 19th. She suffered several injuries to her head and body.
