Yuma video game developers sue over comments
James and Robert Romine own and operate Digital Homicide Studios LLC which produces dozens of PC games. The Yuma based company had recently been added to Steam an online game marketplace.
The trouble started when a popular Youtube show did a segment on one of their games and the result was in the form of some unflattering comments by both the shows host and his followers. Digital Homicide Studios responded to the comments which in turn fueled a back lash that has lasted two years.
The company is claiming that many of the game users have been attacking the company on a variety of online platforms and even have sent threats. The suit filed in federal court is seeking damages from those at fault who currently lists eleven but may reach as many as a 100 other people. The amount roughly $18 million dollars in damages.
Because of the suit the gaming site Steam has dropped the company’s games which will add yet another burden to the company.
