Joshua wins, reclaiming his title

(KYMA, KSWT, KECY) - A rematch months in the making resulted in a win for Anthony Joshua.

Back in June, Ruiz shocked the world by defeating unbeaten champion, Anthony Joshua, winning the WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO heavyweight titles.

Today, Joshua had a chance to redeem himself in a "Clash on the Dunes" in Saudi Arabia.

In round 7, Joshua landed multiple punches, with Ruiz growing frustrated. By the next round, Ruiz retaliated with a hard hit to the back of the head.

Ruiz trailed by a handful of points on the scorecard for a duration of the fight, with both keeping a close fight well into round 9.

Things fared worse for Ruiz in later rounds, where he received multiple hits from Joshua.

Joshua lost ten pounds since their last fight, and today he was looking quick and light on his feet throughout the match.

After the twelve rounds, the judges unanimously announced Joshua as the winner.

An Imperial Valley native, Ruiz wasn't expected to win their first fight. A last minute decision led him to face Joshua in New York with little notice.
