‘Sanitary filters’ reinstalled in Mexicali to prevent spread of COVID-19
Sanitary filters were reinstalled days before Halloween to prevent outbreaks
MEXICALI, B.C. (KYMA, KECY) - Once again, health officials reinstall sanitary filters at the borders and in areas where COVID-19 cases continue to increase.
To stop non-essential travel and prevent the outbreaks of COVID-19 in Mexicali from increasing during the Halloween celebration, this Saturday, the sanitary filters will be reinstalled at the exit of the Mexican Customs through the West gate.
The Mayor of Mexicali Marina del Pilar Ávila said checkpoints would also be installed throughout the city to safeguard order and crowds during Halloween.
The mayor reiterates parents to prevent children from going out on the streets to ask for candy since Mexicali is currently experiencing an outbreak.

On Tuesday, Alonso Óscar Pérez Rico, Secretary of Health in the State, said Baja California might return to the red traffic light after health officials see a surge in COVID-19 cases in Mexicali.
Officials did not rule out the possibility of permanently reinstalling the sanitary filters to stop the outbreaks of COVID-19 that have been registered for a couple of weeks.
