High wind advisory forecast for Yuma County and surrounding areas

The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for Blythe, Yuma, and the Imperial County on Tuesday 11 p.m. to Wednesday, October 30, at 5 p.m.

NWS issues a Wind Advisory in effect from 11 p.m. Tuesday, October 29, until Wednesday, October 30, at 2 p.m. The winds will be coming from the North at 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph are expected for the lowest deserts and Southeast Imperial County.

The air is expected to be very dry as well, with humidity levels reaching down to five percent midday.

According to NWS, the impacts are difficult driving conditions, especially for larger vehicles traveling along roads with crosswinds. Light, unsecured objects may become airborne. Minor tree damage possible.
