SCAM ALERT: Traffic ticket scam circulating Yuma
A scam in the form of an email notifying you to pay for a ticket is circulating Yuma county. Yuma police warn residents to not fall for this.
The Motor Vehicle Department ( MVD ) will never send an email telling drivers to pay for a ticket.
Traffic tickets are always handled by the courts and not the MVD .
Police say if you receive an email requesting any sort of payment regarding a traffic ticket, do not click on the links and do not pay them any money.
If you have concerns about a traffic ticket, contact the department that issued the ticket or the court listed on the ticket.
