SLHS students picked for prestigious UA High School Honor Choir

Two San Luis High School students were selected to perform in the University of Arizona’s prestigious High School Honor Choir on October 21.

Yuma Union High School District (YUHSD) said Delio Castillo and Andres Tovar are the students from YUHS to perform at the university campus in Tucson.

Hundreds of students from across the state auditioned, but only 50 were selected.

“Delio and Andres were both selected to be a part of this select group of singers,” SLHS Choir Director Juan Lomeli said. “These are the first students ever from San Luis to be a part of this program at the university level. I’m just very excited for them.”

Next month’s performance will cap off a weekend of rehearsals, educational opportunities, and social activities for students and their choral directors reported YUHSD.
