Border Patrol agents arrest previously deported felon

A 29-year-old man with a felony criminal history was arrested Monday near Blythe, Calif., according to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

CBP said Blythe Station agents conducted a vehicle stop on Interstate 10 where they discovered one of the occupants of a vehicle was present in the U.S. illegally.

The Mexican national had a felony conviction for carrying a concealed weapon out of Kernsville, North Caroling and a 2017 conviction in Phoenix for child/vulnerable adult abuse.

Reports said the previously deported felon was arrested and charged with immigration violations.

The second man was released at the scene.
