San Luis barricade suspects face judge for first time

The two men arrested after a seven-hour barricaded inside of a San Luis home made their initial appearance in Yuma Justice Court Monday morning.

Isaac Santiago, 29, and another San Luis man face six felony charges including misconduct involving weapons, and endangerment.

The trouble started around eight Sunday morning in a house on Torres Street and Cabello Avenue in San Luis.

San Luis police received multiple reports about some men armed with an AR-15 in the area.

A neighbor showed News 11′ s Ciara Encinas Snapchat videos he claimed show the suspect driving around with the weapon and flashing it in front of their home.

The men barricaded themselves into the house when the police showed up.

They spent seven-hours holed up before surrendering to the Border Patrol’s tactical team and SLPD .

Both men face six felony charges including possession or the use of a weapon in a drug offense and for unlawfully discharging a firearm.

“In lieu of the charges, ma’am, I am going to go ahead and set a $20,000 bond,” said Judge Juan Guerrero, Yuma Justice Court.

Neither suspect can leave the State of Arizona and must surrender all weapons if they do post bond.
