Historic Frank Lloyd Wright home up for auction

A piece of architectural history will go up for auction in Phoenix next month.

Legendary architect Frank Lloyd Wright designed the Norman Lykes house during the last year of his life.

The unique home has been on and off the market over the past several years. It was last listed at $2.7-million, but there will be no minimum starting bid at the October 16th auction.

Wright designed the home nicknamed the ” Circular Sun House ” shortly before his death in April 1959.

The 3,095-square-foot home has three bedrooms and three bathrooms, all of them featuring rounded walls. It sits on the edge of a mountain preserve in Phoenix’s Biltmore neighborhood.

The buyer will get all the property’s original mid-century modern furnishings in addition to the house.
