Arizona man sentenced to prison for internet sex crimes

A man who was convicted of internet sex crimes was sentenced to 11 years of prison for sexual exploitation of a minor.

Attorney General Mark Brnovich announced that Alan Dain Rodriguez, 37, of Litchfield Park will is spending 11 years in prison.

Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Sherry K. Stephens had also sentenced Rodriguez to a lifetime of probation once he is released from prison, and is required to register as a sex offender.

Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office Investigators identified a computer from the Phoenix area in October 2017 that was said to be sharing graphic depictions of child sexual exploitation online through a peer to peer file trading network according to the Attorney General’s Office.

The computer was able to be traced by investigators to Rodriguez’s home in Litchfield Park and a search warrant was executed.

Detectives say in an interview, Rodriguez admitted to searching online for child pornography videos, downloading them, and then watching them.

In July, Rodriguez pleaded guilty to two felony counts, including one that involved a photo of a child estimated to be under five years old.
