House riddled with gunshots, 3 people questioned
Law enforcement flocked to a mobile home park after reports of a drive-by shooting near Magnolia avenue and 8th street.
Yuma County Sheriff’s Office ( YCSO ) deputies and detectives, border patrol agents, canine, and even air units formed a joint task force to find out where the shots came from.
Neighbors describe hearing five or six gunshots coming from an SUV driving down Magnolia Avenue around 11 a.m. on Tuesday morning.
Sheriff’s deputies told News 11 the shooters were aiming at the home on Magnolia.
YCSO is now questioning two men and a woman.
YCSO said as deputies were arriving they located the possible suspect vehicle. Deputies attempted to pull the vehicle over which failed to yield and it ended up being stopped near Date avenue and 8th street.
Deputies reported that the three people of interest drove a burgundy Grand Cherokee to the DMC Mobile Homes on Date avenue, less than two miles from the scene of the drive-by shooting.
They are still investigating the individuals’ connection to the shooting.
Investigators reported no injuries, but neighbors said the neighborhood has had a lot of violent activity over the years.
