4 killed in shooting in SLRC

A group of hitmen murdered a young man in San Luis Rio Colorado, Mexico on Sunday. Police then killed three of the suspects.

Tribuna de San Luis reports the young man’s body was found in Avenida Mazatlan between Calle 11 and 12.

Police said they located two suspicious vehicles along Avenida Dalias, but both drivers took off and refused to stop.

The men riding in a Jeep Grand Cherokee later opened fire on police. Officers shot back, killing three of the men in the SUV.

Police say the rest of the suspects escaped in a white Chevy Tahoe. They were last seen heading south into the city.

Officers did not locate any other suspects. They still have no motive for the murder.
