IVC and U of A Yuma renews memorandum of agreement

The Imperial Valley College ( IVC ) and the University of Arizona Yuma (U of A YUMA) agreed to renew their agreement to help students at IVC to further their education after they get their associate’s degree.

The new three-year agreement allows students to transfer and pursue over dozens of career opportunities at the U of A YUMA.

Tanya Hodges, Regional Academic Programs Coordinator at the U of A YUMA said the goal is to help students develop leadership skills in the community and keep the workforce in the desert southwest.

” By growing our own, we have young people that can stay in positions that will want to make a commitment to our community and our industries. So we don’t have that turn over work force. ”

Hodges said the career opportunities for students include the field of agriculture, engineering, cyber engineering, and computer science.
