Drivers violating school bus stops for students

The Yuma Police Department (YPD) is urging the community to take precaution in school zones, especially at school bus stops.

This is an effort to prevent any tragedy from occurring on main roads around the county. One concerned father of three sent videos to News 11 to prove that several drivers are violating the right away.

“I don’t want something bad happening before action is taken, a fatality does not need to occur before people can do something about it,” said a long-time resident of Yuma and father Johnny Mollindo.

The school district has taken efforts to prevent students from even crossing the street when being dropped off. In fact, if a student lives on a specific side of the street they will then be dropped off on that side.
