Gadsden Elementary School District #32 awarded grant

A 2.7 million dollar grant was awarded to Gadsden Elementary School District #32 for five of their schools.

The grant was awarded through the Arizona Department of Education for Cesar Chavez Elementary, Desert View Elementary, Gadsden Elementary, San Luis Middle School, and Southwest Jr. High for $2.7 million dollars over a five-year period.

The purpose of the 21st Century Community Learning Center Grant is to provide tutoring and enrichment activities for students. The 21st Century Program will also offer family engagement courses for parents of actively participating students.

The district says they remain one of the few districts in the state where nearly all its schools have been awarded the grant.
